JOB SUMMARY The Skateboard Program Supervisor will actively oversee, continually develop and supervise the day-to-day operations of the Skateboard Program at Woodward PA. The Supervisor will be expected to facilitate all program related tasks while developing a fun, safe and interactive environment for staff and campers. This role will assist the Program Manager in all of the daily operations of the Skateboard Program including, but not limited to, staff/camper management, curriculum, programming and administrative duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Support programming leadership staff in executing the Woodward program standard for all campers Assist with the training and development of all staff. Support with staff meetings as designated. Supervise 10-30 Coaches, Counselors and Zone Coaches daily. Uphold the standards set in the Programming Playbook and Skateboard Program Guide. Lead programming such as orientation, instruction, events, clinics, announcements, etc. Maintain a safe campus through facility inspections/cleaning, cabin checks, nightly patrol as assigned. Review staff performance. Execute proper disciplinary action, if necessary. Assist with weekly administrative tasks such as staff scheduling, camper evaluations, etc. Provide unique perspectives and feedback that aid in the development of the Skateboard Program. Carry out the Woodward Guest Services standards – Be Safe, Be Friendly, Be Helpful, Be Proud. Support operational departments in carrying out the Woodward mission in creating a safe and fun environment for all campers. Other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES +/- 30 Employees KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Ability to project manage and prioritize multiple tasks at the same time. QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications High School degree or equivalent Experience in action sports coaching required Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, comfortable presenting and deploying new technologies. Demonstrated broad technical knowledge of management techniques. Proven ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team. Provide work related references upon request. Employment in this position is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-hire background checks, including criminal history clearance through the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH), child abuse clearance through the Department of Public Welfare, Motor Vehicle Record if required by position and federal background screening via FBI fingerprinting Provide work related references upon request Preferred Qualifications: Preferred 3+ years of experience working with kids and/or teens. Some college preferred Preferred experience in leadership Experience working in a camp environment is preferred. PREREQUISITES Must have or be able to obtain the following prior to starting work: Woodward will supply information to assist you in obtaining these if needed. Mandated Reporter Training Certificate Safesport Training Certificate PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50 lbs. Must be comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor all-season environment. Adhere to all workplace safety practices, expectations, and guidelines.
