NOTE: PSIC, or CSIA Level 1 certification (or higher) is required Position Title: Ski Instructor, Snow School (Seasonal) Department: Recreation (Snow School) Reports to: Manager Recreation, Supervisor Snow School or designate Our Mission: Offer unique and memorable experiences through fun-filled programs, activities and events! Job Summary: Instructors at Chicopee are responsible for teaching students of all ages and skill levels how to improve their abilities in a safe, engaging, and fun environment. This individual plays a key role in delivering high-quality lessons, fostering a love of skiing, and ensuring a memorable guest experience. This seasonal position requires excellent skiing ability, strong communication skills, and a passion for outdoor recreation and instruction. Roles and Responsibilities: Deliver engaging and level-appropriate ski instruction to students of all ages and abilities Create a safe, positive, and fun learning environment Maintain accurate and up-to-date lesson records, attendance sheets, and plans Ensure the safety of all participants and respond to incidents appropriately Communicate regularly with students and parents to provide feedback and answer questions Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, punctuality, and adherence to Chicopee’s uniform policy Attend all mandatory pre-season and corporate training sessions Assist other departments as required by operational needs Continuously seek opportunities to improve teaching methods and participate in optional on-hill training Support and encourage guest participation in ongoing programs or events Represent Chicopee with a guest-first attitude at all times Key Qualifications: PSIC, or CSIA Level 1 certification (or higher) is required Strong skiing skills across all terrain and in various conditions Experience instructing groups or individuals is preferred Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills Able to repeatedly lift up to 45 lbs (20.4 kg) and perform physically demanding tasks Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Customer-focused with a passion for teaching and positive guest experiences Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset Additional certifications such as CASI (Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors) or CSCF (Canadian Ski Coaches Federation) are considered assets Bilingual is an asset. Additional Requirements: Must be flexible and available to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and during peak periods (e.g., Christmas, March Break) Passionate about the outdoor and recreation industry Approachable, empathetic, and a strong communicator Must provide your own Black (logo-free) snow pants, CSA Z263.1, ASTM F2040, EN 1077, or Snell RS 98 certified ski/snowboard helmet and ski/snowboard equipment Other uniform items in accordance with Chicopee’s policy A Chicopee uniform jacket will be provided upon receipt of a $100 refundable deposit and signed Uniform You have, or can use our Human Resource platform to obtain, the following certificates: WHMIS; Ladder Safety; Ontario Health & Safety Awareness (OHSA); Workplace Violence & Harassment (Bill 168 & 132); Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA); IASR: Information and Communications Standards and Employment Standards; Understanding Human Rights; Safe Lifting; Gender and Sexual Diversity; Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB); Safe Food Handling (for Food and Beverage Employees) Training Background Check: A satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) is required if you are 18 years of age or older.
