Position Opening Downhill Ski Instructor Part-time or part of a full-time Faculty position Employment Dates 12/02/25 - 12/18/25, Monday - Friday 4-6pm - Dryland training, on campus 1/06/26 - 2/24/26, Wednesdays 2:30 - 5:30. Thursdays & Fridays 4 -6:15pm, Saturdays 8am-12:15pm - Ski at Whitetail Resort. Mondays 4-5:30 ski tuning and yoga on campus. Qualifications/Expectations Ability to coach / instruct beginner - intermediate or intermediate - advanced alpine skiing. Knowledge of alpine ski equipment. Capable of supervising students during trips to ski resorts. Ability to teach students winter self-care and resort etiquette. Instructors must have a valid driver’s license as they may be expected to drive students in school vehicles to and from ski locations. Instructors are expected to conduct dry-land practice on campus in December. When students return from Winter Break in January, instructors will teach and supervise skiing 4 days a week at Whitetail until the end of February. All outdoor programs personnel should be able to demonstrate effective teaching skills relative to sport-specific technique, as well as possess the interpersonal skills necessary to maintain working relationships with students, parents, other instructors, and administrators. Special consideration will be given to applicants who possess or are willing to work towards achieving certification as a ski instructor. Employees at Mercersburg Academy are required to complete the clearance process mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
