From bluebird mornings to whiteout afternoons, Ski Patrollers are the guardians of the mountain. You’ll combine advanced skiing, medical response, risk management, and teamwork to ensure every guest and team member can enjoy the alpine environment safely. This role is ideal for experienced patrollers who thrive under pressure, take pride in precision, and want to spend their winter doing meaningful, high-impact work in one of Australia’s most iconic alpine settings. What You'll Be Doing Acting as a first responder for on-mountain incidents, delivering immediate and advanced first aid for injuries ranging from minor to life-threatening trauma Safely packaging and transporting injured guests using Akjas, Cascades, sleds, Skitube gurneys, oversnow vehicles, and wheeled transport Proactively monitoring snow conditions, weather patterns, terrain, and guest behaviour to identify and manage risk Opening, closing, and securing ski runs — marking hazards, installing closures, and communicating changes to Dispatch Participating in lift evacuations, emergency response drills, and Skitube rescue exercises Providing calm, professional communication and reassurance to guests during high-stress situations Working closely with Dispatch, Medical Centre staff, Lift Operations, and other resort teams to ensure seamless emergency response What You'll Bring Minimum of two seasons’ experience as a Ski Patroller Advanced alpine skiing ability across all terrain and conditions (snowboarders will not be considered) Strong first aid and emergency response capability, with confidence managing high-acuity incidents Clear, confident communication skills — including effective use of two-way radios A high level of physical fitness, resilience, and mental focus A dependable, team-oriented work ethic and commitment to rostered shifts A calm, respectful, and professional approach with guests, even in challenging situations Current NSW Working With Children Check (overseas applicants may obtain on arrival) Training & Requirements Successful applicants must complete the Perisher First Responder Course prior to the season. This is delivered pre-season in May, with overseas candidates completing training in June.
