JOB SUMMARY

You will be directly responsible for driving and wide range of wheeled vehicles and applying regulatory principles for the loading/unloading of Large Goods and Passenger Carrying vehicles. The husbandry of vehicles, equipment and responsible for the correct and safe use of personal issue and vehicle safety equipment.

This diverse role may require a deal of flexibility, moving from different vehicle types and task roles, adaptability is a key attribute for this job role, including the following:

  • Have the ability to maintain effective communication with other members of the team and customer base.
  • Operate under difficult situations, you may be exposed to incidents requiring the operation of specialist emergency response vehicles.
  • Maintain good driving standards and compliance with the Road traffic Act.

JOB DESCRIPTION

You will work in a team delivering Logistic function, specifically the use of wheeled transport and other tasks associated with driving roles on a full vocational licence entitlement.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to drive a broad variety of vehicles in a busy Transport and Logistic organisation.
You will be providing support to a highly deployable, diverse RAF Station and Force Headquarters, with units spread across the UK and overseas.

QUALIFICATIONS

You will be required to maintain a minimum standard of mandatory Civil Service and Military training and competence alongside these essential requirements:
• Hold a UK Category B Licence or National equivalent.
• Hold a UK Vocational Category C Licence or National equivalent.
• Hold a UK Vocational category C+E Licence or National equivalent.
• Be physically able to conduct manual handling tasks under normal operating standards for holding a UK Vocational Licence.
The following are desirable requirements:

Hold a Vocational Category D Licence or UK equivalent.
• Hold a Vocational Category D+E Licence or UK equivalent.
• Hold a ADR Licence (Hazardous Goods Licence).
• Hold a MHE Licence.

The post does not offer relocation expenses.
