We are now recruiting for Skilled/Experienced Butcher Operatives to join our team. Job Purpose: Responsible for boning, butchering, trimming and finishing red meat for sale and consumption in accordance with client specifications and Company SOP’s. Key Responsibilities Perform boning, butchering, trimming and finishing tasks at line speed Participate fully in Lean Manufacturing processes and embrace new methods of working Completing assigned tasks in a timely manner to meet daily targets Ensure product is of the highest standard, reporting any issues to the Line supervisor immediately Be familiar with the daily production plan and work as part of the team to set up the line, complete checks and ensuring materials are ready to use Perform all prestart, hygiene and safety checks as instructed Maintaining good understanding and knowledge of customer specifications and yields Complying with quality specifications and understanding yield values Complying with Company’s knife and health and safety rules, including hygiene requirements Report all breakages, damages or defaults of equipment immediately to Line Supervisor, only using equipment when safe to do so Reporting any accidents or near misses, assisting with investigations as instructed/necessary Minimising and reporting of waste appropriately Finishing products to the required specifications Maintaining and securely storing tools and equipment Actively participate in all required company training Any other duties as instructed by supervisors/management and within the competency of the post holder Competence and significant experience in butchery and/or knife skills essential Previous experience working in a high-volume meat processing factory highly beneficial Able to work in chilled environment Manual handling ability and awareness Fluent English, communicate well in written and oral form with multi-nationals on all levels Flexibility to meet daily production targets Consistent approach and strong work ethic Able to work under own initiative and as part of a team Adaptable to change and production demands Passion for food Industry training and professional development Overtime rate of time and a half applies when you work over 44 hours/week Performance Bonus- eligibility after 3 months of continuous service 31 days annual leave per year (after probation) 25% Discount in our on site Butcher Shop Subsidised canteen serving multiple hot food options for breakfast and lunch Employee Discount Platform - All Kepak employees are entitled to access to the WrkIt platform, which offers significant discounts and cashback with hundreds of brands.
