OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Landscape Operative to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge and a passion for maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces. This role involves a variety of tasks related to landscape and maintenance. The Landscape Operative will play a vital role in ensuring that our clients’ grounds are well-kept and aesthetically pleasing.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

  • Turfing
  • Planting
  • Fencing
  • Seeding
  • Mowing and maintenance
  • Familiarity with using power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for maintaining equipment used in landscaping tasks.
  • A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential qualities for success in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and weeding to ensure the health and appearance of gardens.
  • Build and install various landscape features using hand tools and power tools.
  • Dig holes for planting trees, shrubs, and flowers, ensuring proper depth and spacing.
  • Irrigate gardens effectively, adjusting systems as necessary to promote healthy plant growth.
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition through regular cleaning and minor repairs.
  • Assist in the implementation of new landscaping projects.
  • Conduct grounds keeping duties to keep outdoor areas clean and free from debris.
  • Supporting your contracts manager and Site Manager in line with our Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.
  • Undertake safety and quality inspections and audits.
  • Client communication and relationship building.
  • Completing site inspections and maintaining site records using our tablet system.
  • Ensuring a high standard of work.
  • Mentoring and bringing on new staff.
  • Planning and organizing the day-to-day tasks with the Site Manager.
  • Reporting to site Manager and Contract Manager.
  • Fulfill weekly KPI’s.
  • Making sure time sheets, vehicle check sheets are completed each week.
  • Keeping your department manager up to date with the day to day running of sites
  • May be required to work across other departments if the workload requires this.
  • Able to work at least one weekend per month.
