Job Summary As part of a structured training and development program, the Apprentice learns and develops required skills in a manufacturing environment under direct guidance. The role involves completing defined classroom training and a minimum number of on-the-job training hours while learning to work safely with electricity, robotics, and other industrial energy sources and equipment. Key Responsibilities Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) * Stop work and immediately report any major injury hazards. * Report all work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, and hazards. * Comply with Cummins HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations. * Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). * Promote an interdependent safety culture by looking out for others. * Correct hazards within scope of control and capability. * Recognize environmental impacts of work and minimize negative effects. * Participate in required HSE training and follow safe work protocols when working with electrical and robotic systems. Quality & Technical Learning * Learn and apply high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship. * Perform supervised work using diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, and specifications. * Support equipment uptime and downtime failure analysis. * Follow all process documentation and quality procedures. * Perform quality inspections and raise issues to minimize cost and quality risks. * Provide feedback into the Preventive Maintenance (PM) system. Delivery, Maintenance & Operations * Progress through the program of study to build skills and knowledge required to meet job qualifications. * Complete all required on-the-job training hours and document learning progress. * Assist with preventive, corrective, predictive, and emergency maintenance activities within capability. * Repair and maintain robotic and manufacturing equipment under supervision. * Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks. Continuous Improvement & Teamwork * Work with peers and support teams to identify and reduce manufacturing constraints. * Participate in problem-solving and process improvement activities. * Actively engage with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams to improve safety, quality, process efficiency, material flow, and employee development. * Communicate effectively with assigned teams and support functions. * Complete training and personal development aligned with business requirements.
