PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES / EXPERIENCE

  • Level 2 or above CIH Certificate in Housing (desirable)
  • CAVA/TAQA (desirable)
  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training (desirable)
  • Good level of general education and English and Maths GCSE Level 2 or equivalent (essential)
  • An understanding of the FE sector and funding opportunities
  • Experience of client liaison and customer relationships management
  • Experience of working in an Adult Education / FE environment
  • Experience of working with MI systems (ie PICs), and e-portfolios (i.e. Ecordia) desirable
  • Mentoring / coaching of learners / and or staff
  • Experience of working for social housing organisation/ or organisations relevant to the housing sector
  • Excellent written, spoken, interpersonal and presentational skills
  • Able to analyse and present data
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Good organisational & administration skills
  • High level skills in using ICT to produce correspondence and reports, spreadsheets and databases
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and support people to achieve excellence
  • Understanding of Safeguarding Legislation and its application within the educational sector and in relation to this post.
  • Commitment to equality and diversity and a good understanding of its practical implementation in the role.

Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The role involves supporting cohorts of apprentices from the start of their apprenticeship through to successful completion.
You will be required to take ownership for the apprentices within your case load, to ensure each apprentice makes the most of all learning opportunities and progresses towards timely completion of their programme.
You will be expected to work closely with colleagues to promote best practice within the department and maintain and co-operate in any staff development activities.
A key part of this role is that the post holder will be able to self-manage their case load and support apprentices to meet key milestones on the programme in a timely manner. You will be able to work from home, but there is an expectation to visit employers from time to time.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Escalate performance issues to your line manager/senior management and prepare performance information as and when required.
  • Hold regular monthly meetings with apprentices to monitor progress and ensuring all administrative records are kept up to date
  • Prepare and deliver workshops to apprentices relating to the development of their skills and behaviours.
  • Support the Operations / Quality Assurance manager/s with their role/s including Quality Assurance processes, OFSTED visits and inspections/ DFE data collation requirements
  • Providing advice and guidance on the apprenticeship process to apprentices and their employing organisation, including agreeing individual learning plans, gathering evidence and reviewing evidence for their skills and behaviours portfolio, producing project plans and reports for end point assessment and preparing for the end point assessment
  • Providing updates on progress to the apprentice’s line manager
  • Review work submitted by the apprentice and provide supportive, developmental and timely feedback.
  • A commitment to keeping up to date with policies, procedures and working practice relating to the apprenticeships programme.
  • To take part in standardisation activities as required
  • To ensure appropriate student information is provided in a timely manner to relevant software applications including the MIS / E-portfolio / Virtual Learning Environment
  • Produce performance management information on own cohort of learners
  • To ensure appropriate student information is provided in a timely manner as requested by Operations / QA Managers, Programme Managers/ Cohort leaders
  • To be flexible as required

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:

  • As this is a working from home role Kingdom Academy will provide all the IT equipment needed to do the job.
  • The successful applicant will need a suitable environment to be able to fulfil their professional duties 9 am – 5 pm Monday to Friday.
