The Growth Company’s Greater Manchester Business Growth Hub team is looking for five Skills Coaches. These roles involve identifying training needs, brokering relationships with training providers, and supporting employees and volunteers in Greater Manchester. The focus is on essential skills and vocational training to improve productivity, job satisfaction, and skill levels.
Since 2011, GM Business Growth Hub has supported over 15,000 businesses, providing finance guidance, international links, and fostering innovation and people development. We offer expert business support, events, specialist programs, and funding.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree level education or significant experience in training, business support, or employer engagement.
  • Experience in a target-driven environment.
  • Proven negotiation, presentation, and account management skills.
  • Understanding of the skills landscape, including funding and policy.
  • Strong digital skills, including CRM databases.
  • Understanding and appreciating the challenges in English, maths, ESOL, and digital skills, and how they impact the workplace.
Responsibilities
  • Understand growth aspirations and skills requirements of supported organisations.
  • Establish strong relationships with key contacts to facilitate skills reviews.
  • Identify training needs and develop clear recommendations.
  • Maximise training opportunities for clients.
  • Use CRM and data systems accurately.
  • Complete administration tasks timely and accurately.
  • Attend networking events to promote services.
  • Stay updated on national and local skills strategies and funding.
