DESCRIPTION
Are you passionate about vocational education and eager to make a real difference in learners’ lives? Join our team as a Skills Coordinator in a full-time, fixed-term role until the end of August 2025. In this rewarding position, you’ll shape curriculum design, oversee programme delivery, and help students thrive. With a focus on pre-apprenticeships, SWAPs, and Apprenticeships, this role offers the chance to apply your expertise while supporting the development of both staff and learners.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
The ideal candidate will have teaching experience, particularly within vocational learning and in specific areas such as Emergency First Aid and Manual Handling as this role involves managing a teaching caseload and delivering exceptional instruction. Experience in vocational education is key to understanding the unique needs of learners in pre-employment and apprenticeship programmes. Additionally, the ability to analyse and interpret data to track learner progression is essential, as monitoring and supporting learner success is a core responsibility of the role.
As a Skills Coordinator, you will play a key role in guiding curriculum design, development, and unit selection for specified subject areas. You will also support staffing operations to ensure smooth programme delivery. Managing your own teaching and assessing caseload will be a key part of your role, where you will demonstrate outstanding practice aligned with the Education Inspection Framework (EIF). You will also plan and deliver CPD activities for the wider Skills team, collaborate with delivery teams to develop schemes of work, and support the coordination of the delivery of pre-apprenticeships and SWAPs, all while monitoring learner progression and capturing destinations and employer feedback.
