JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a reliable and skilled skip Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving and mechanical knowledge, with experience in operating various types of vehicles, including flatbed lorries and vans. The Driver will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining safety and compliance with all regulations. This role requires effective communication skills to liaise with warehouse staff and clients.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as a skip Driver.
  • Familiarity with flatbed operations is advantageous but not essential.
  • Mechanical knowledge is beneficial for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and clients.
  • A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type being operated is required.

  • Operate commercial vehicles, including flatbed lorries and vans, for the transportation of goods.
  • Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to weight limits and safety protocols.
  • Conduct routine inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working order, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel consumption.
  • Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving to ensure the safety of yourself and others on the road.
  • Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management and organisation.
