Job DetailsJob Location: Virginia Beach, VA 23451Salary Range: $2.13 - $2.13Server – Sky Bar & Pool Deck Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront 📍 3001 Atlantic Ave, Virginia Beach, VA 23451 🕒 Seasonal | Variable or Part-Time (must include weekends and holidays) 🌊 Outdoor Pool Deck & Rooftop Bar Environment 📝 Position Summary As a Sky Bar & Pool Deck Server, you will deliver energetic, attentive service in a high-volume outdoor rooftop and pool deck environment. This role focuses on guest engagement, drink and food service, and maintaining a clean, safe, and upbeat atmosphere. Servers must be comfortable working in heat, sun, and a fast-paced seasonal setting while providing a polished, friendly experience. What You’ll Do Guest Experience Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, attentive service Engage with guests at lounge seating, pool deck seating, and bar areas Create a fun, welcoming, high-energy atmosphere Order Taking & Service Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently Serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages Deliver food orders and check back to ensure satisfaction Maintain awareness of guest needs in a fast-moving outdoor environment Menu Knowledge Understand cocktail menu, beer selections, and food offerings Make recommendations and answer guest questions Promote specials, featured cocktails, and upgrades Upselling Utilize suggestive selling to enhance the guest experience Encourage additional rounds, appetizers, and premium options Table & Deck Maintenance Maintain cleanliness of tables, loungers, and service areas Clear glassware, plates, and trash promptly Keep pool deck and bar areas organized and guest-ready Cash Handling Process payments accurately (cash and credit) Follow proper check handling and closing procedures Safety & Compliance Follow responsible alcohol service standards Check IDs and verify legal drinking age Monitor guest behavior and escalate concerns when needed Maintain safe walkways around pool and deck areas Follow cleanliness and sanitation standards Legislation & Company Policy Obtain TIPS certification within 90 days of hire Check identification to ensure guests are of legal drinking age Politely refuse service to underage or intoxicated guests Monitor alcohol consumption and guest safety Use judgment to manage difficult situations professionally Offer water, food, or transportation alternatives when needed Ask a manager to intervene when appropriate Pour tests may be administered to ensure accuracy Understand and actively support all company policies relevant to your role We Live by Our “TOP” Values T – TEAM UP: Collaborate, support others, and stay golden O – OWN IT: Take pride, stay accountable, and never stop learning P – PASSIONATELY SERVE: Be positive, show you care, and create memorable experiences We’re looking for team players who embody these values every day. QualificationsQualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Previous server or bar experience preferred (high-volume outdoor venue a plus) Strong guest service and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor, seasonal environment Team-oriented and reliable Ability to multitask and stay organized Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Carry trays of food and beverages Work outdoors in heat, sun, and wind conditions Move quickly across pool deck and bar service areas Lift and carry moderate weight as needed
