Description Tanner Clinic has an immediate opening for a PRN Sleep Lab Technician. Essential Job Responsibilities: Prepare patients for sleep studies Apply and calibrating monitoring equipment and monitoring patients throughout their stay Apply positive airway pressure therapy and oxygen as needed. Complete necessary paperwork following study Other duties as assigned Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent Certified as a Sleep Lab Technician by the BRPT Experience: 2+ years of sleep lab experience and respiratory training preferred Performance Requirements: Knowledge: Knowledge of Sleep Lab procedures and processes. Knowledge electronic equipment and computer hardware and software. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Requires demonstrated knowledge of medical equipment unique to polysomnography as well as other equipment related to polysomnography such as oximeter, airflow thermistors, computerized digital systems, CPAP and BilPAP as well as charts, files and reports. Skills: Possess effective written and verbal communication skills. Abilities: Ability to remain alert while working 12-hour night shifts. Ability to utilize sleep lab equipment. Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc. Work Environment: Position is in a well-lighted office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work. Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder.
Responsibilities
The Sleep Lab Technician is responsible for preparing patients for sleep studies and monitoring them throughout their stay using specialized equipment. They must also apply positive airway pressure therapy as needed and complete all required study documentation.
