The Sleep Patient Coordinator is responsible for handling all sleep related matters including sleep study referrals, obtaining sleep study reports, and all other patient inquiries for their sleep related needs. This position orders new or replacement CPAP/APAP machines and other durable medical equipment (DME). The Sleep Patient Coordinator is responsible for being the Inspire Therapy liaison for Albany ENT. We offer a hybrid work schedule once training is complete. Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for processing sleep tasks from providers and staff, which consists of scheduling sleep studies and referrals, obtaining reports, contacting patients and insurance companies, etc. Process APAP/CPAP/BiPAP orders and supply requests for other medical equipment. Respond to all inquires from patients and DME companies. Act as a liaison with Inspire Therapy which consists of coordinating care with patient, provider, and Inspire Therapy. Monitor incoming sleep faxes, import data, reports, communication, and other documents into patient’s chart. Completes chart prep by obtaining clinical documentation and physician referral information to ensure that clinical notes and diagnostic reports are available prior to scheduled patient office appointment. Communicates with attention to the dignity and individual health needs of each patient while applying HIPAA rules. Requirements High school diploma or GED. Experience in medical office and/or customer service preferred. Proficient computer skills including ability to master the office’s practice management software. Consistent professional conduct, meticulous attention to detail, critical thinking skills and a positive and collaborative attitude are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required as well as interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals. Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $18.00 to $21.00. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual’s skills, education, experience, and qualifications.
