Responsibilities

ROLE

We’re hiring SLG - Traffic Management Operatives for our Blanchardstown Depot. Your role involves ensuring safe traffic flow in construction sites and events. Previous Traffic Management experience, along with a valid Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and 3-day SLG ticket required.
You will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and dismantling traffic control measures and equipment while adhering to all relevant safety regulations and guidelines. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and effective communication with colleagues and the public. Additionally, you will be responsible for driving company vehicles to transport equipment and personnel to and from work sites.
Training will be delivered upon commencement to ensure the successful candidate understands how to carry out their duties safely while on site.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Traffic Management Equipment Setup: Safely install and set up traffic management equipment, signs, cones, barriers, and other equipment according to established plans and procedures under the guidance of the site supervisor.
  • Traffic Management: Monitor traffic flow and respond to changing conditions, adjusting traffic control measures as necessary to ensure the safety of both workers and the public.
  • Driving Company Vehicles (Drivers Only): Operate company vehicles, such as trucks or vans, to transport traffic management equipment and personnel to and from work sites. Drive vehicles with caution, obeying all traffic laws and company policies, and ensure the safe loading and securing of equipment.
  • Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all safety regulations, policies, and guidelines while carrying out duties, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance of traffic management equipment to ensure proper functionality, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with colleagues, supervisors, and the public, providing clear and courteous instructions and information regarding traffic control measures and diversions.
  • Emergency Response: Act promptly and effectively in case of emergencies or incidents, following established procedures to mitigate risks and ensure public safety.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to traffic management activities, including equipment usage and maintenance reports.
  • Environmental Awareness: Consider and implement environmentally friendly practices in traffic management, including waste management and pollution control.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices and participate in training programs to improve skills and knowledge related to traffic management.
