JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our Material Services department are currently recruiting for a Support Logistics Inventory Control Team (SLICT) Manager. The focus of your role, will be to deliver the material service elements to the customer whilst achieving cost savings for the customer and profit margins, satisfying the overall strategic aim of delivering improved platform support to contractual obligations. You will also ensure that the day to day activities of availability and sustainment are managing the material and operational supply requirements.
Please note that this role is a JFF Level 6 (Business Support.)

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU;

  • Someone who has the ability to effectively manage and lead a team to enable them to provide excellent internal and external customer service
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, required to form effective relationships with Customer, and stakeholder networks
  • The ability to interface and influence at senior level within the Customer and industry domains
  • Have developed solution finding and problem solving techniques able to be applied in an operational environment
  • Proven, successful track record in logistics management within an aerospace environment
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics and material supply techniques
  • Experience of managing complex and demanding commercial arrangements where service delivery, inventory management and financial responsibility are key elements
Responsibilities
  • Forge strong working relationships with Customers, senior management and relevant stakeholders ensuring material delivery issues are well communicated and proposed solutions are discussed and managed appropriately
  • Manage, lead and develop availability officers to deliver material to our worldwide Customer base and be responsible for the provision of appropriate material solutions to mitigate issues which may impinge on Customer on-time delivery and satisfaction
  • Influence and manage key internal relationships with Procurement, Logistics providers, Programmes, Engineering and Material Requirement Planning
  • Proactively identify and manage potential threats to performance and Customer satisfaction by monitoring programme and performance data
  • Prioritise and allocate assets within your own programme and, where applicable, agree priorities with other managers which may result in assets being re-directed
  • Escalate appropriately material issues impacting customer satisfaction to the head of the department
  • Assist in providing accurate and timely inputs into the internal company process and, where applicable, explain variances of spend versus forecast and root causes to senior management
