Description

We are a fast paced manufacture of special nuts, bolts and machined components. All in various material types, to drawings, international standards. We have many approvals and growing fast. Great environment to work in, clean, modern machinery, team approach to everything. We are looking for serious, dedicated people with good work ethics - the sliding head section is made of a solid experienced group of people that really care about their section. They have implemented a lot of lean practices so the section is very well organised so to limit daily frustrations of setting machines, finding tooling, gauges etc..
The beauty of this shift is the 4 day week - I see the smiles on a Thursday night when they are breaking up for 3 days - they also benefit from a shift allowance as we recognize the unsociable hours. Shift pattern is Mon-Thu 1pm-11pm - 40 hours per week with a shift allowance of £1.50 extra per hour.
Sliding Head Programmer
Duties:
- Develop and write programs for various machining operations - experience of best approaches given the material types as we do machine some complex materials on some occasions. Main materials we are machining is 316 stainless, L7/EN19, UNS 32760, Inconel etc..
- Set up and operate machines to produce parts according to programmed instructions
- Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure accuracy and quality of finished products
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve production issues
Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as G-code - Fanuc
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, tools, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Attention to detail and precision in work
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
