SALARY: $22.00-$24.00/HOUR

Our client in Toronto, ON is actively looking for a Slitter Operator to join their team.
The ideal candidate is familiar with working in a manufacturing environment. In this role, you will be working alongside other machine operators to meet production needs. We are looking for someone who enjoys learning, is team-oriented, and comfortable reading and using an imperial tape measure.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

• Conduct daily inspections of slitter machine at the beginning of each shift
• Assist line operators in completing machine set-ups
• Use fingers to check knives for knicks, defects, and dullness
• May be required to use lifting equipment to move the correct material to the production line for each scheduled order – if certified
• Operate the production line
• Assist in packaging material according to order specifications
• Participate in daily housekeeping to keep the work area clean and safe
• Work in a safe manner at all times, adhering to company policies

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 1-2 years of manufacturing experience (Steel manufacturing is an asset)
• Must be able to read imperial/metric measuring tape
• Good verbal communication skills
• Forklift experience is an asset
• Overhead Crane experience is an asset
• Be a team player and able to work well with others on the job
