Job Details Position Type: Full Time Job Description Job Title: SLS Registered Behavior Technician Reports To: ICS SLS Supervisor Department: InClusion Services Job Overview The SLS Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) plays a vital role in providing person-centered support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) SLS Program Supervisor, and SLS Program Director, the SLS RBT ensures that individuals receive high-quality behavioral support and daily living assistance that promotes independence, safety, and dignity. This position bridges direct support, behavior intervention, and leadership, aligning with the goals of Supported Living Services (SLS) to empower individuals to live independently, make informed decisions, and actively participate in their communities. Key Responsibilities Direct Support & Care Provide direct assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) including hygiene, mobility, self-care, and meal preparation. Conduct home visits and complete quality assurance inspections to ensure safe and compliant living environments. Support clients in implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and managing challenging behaviors. Accompany clients during community activities and outings, ensuring engagement and safety. Perform light housekeeping, errands, and transportation when clients cannot complete these tasks independently. Teach and reinforce essential life skills such as budgeting, cooking, and using public transportation. Promote self-advocacy, independence, and community integration in alignment with SLS values. Encourage and support clients in building and maintaining natural supports (e.g., friends, family, and community relationships). Behavioral Support Deliver 1:1 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services under the supervision of a BCBA. Accurately collect, record, and analyze behavioral data (frequency, duration, ABC, latency, etc.). Utilize evidence-based techniques including prompt fading, reinforcement, and behavior shaping. Educate clients, families, and team members on positive behavior support strategies. Maintain a compassionate and ethical approach consistent with the BACB’s Professional and Ethical Compliance Code. Leadership & Training Assist in training new staff on ADLs, behavior support plans, and emergency protocols. Lead fire and emergency drills, and assist with AWOL procedures. Participate in staff meetings, team planning, and IPP/ISP/IEP discussions. Support Operations in scheduling and coordinating staff coverage to ensure service continuity. Model person-centered practices and mentor team members in upholding SLS principles. Communication & Documentation Maintain professional and timely communication with supervisors, clinicians, families, and service providers. Complete all required documentation (e.g., session notes, incident reports, timesheets) accurately and on schedule. Ensure that all reports meet agency, regional center, and regulatory standards. Contribute to the development and revision of Individual Service Plans (ISPs), ensuring that goals reflect the client’s preferences, culture, and abilities. Qualifications Qualifications Required: Minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. High School Diploma or equivalent. Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification in good standing with the BACB, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. CPR/First Aid and CPI certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days). Ability to lift/push/carry up to 75 lbs. and assist clients with transfers. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance. Successful completion of TB clearance, fingerprinting, and criminal background check. Preferred: Prior experience in Supported Living Services (SLS), residential care, or behavioral health settings. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Employment Classification Employment Type: Full-Time (Hourly / Non-Exempt) Work Hours: Up to 32 hours per week; flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays Work Location: Client homes and community environments On-Call Requirement: Must be reachable via phone, text, or email during work hours Professional Expectations Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all ethical and professional standards. Participate in a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education annually for professional growth. Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to person-centered care.
