Position Summary: This position requires the individual to water houses using chlorine and various chemicals. Must wear Personal Protective Equipment. Carry and drag the hose to each house. This position works six days a week from 7am – 4pm Job Description: This position performs any/all the following task: • Maintain adequate water pressure • Hang hoses when not in use • Able to wash hoses once done using them and when entering another mushroom house • Able to use proper PPE and adequate use of chemicals (use boots, long sleeve shirt, and long pants adequate for the work area). • Able to use chemicals with signal words and never use any containers without proper labeling. • Use test strips and record concentration and follow all established procedures. • Sweep empty grow areas and carry boxes of new substrate (logs) • Assist in general growing tasks as needed, and able to document name and number of gallons used. PREFERRED SKILLS • Experience in watering for mushrooms. • A positive attitude and patience. • Adaptable to varied and challenging agricultural work environments. • Ability to read and write. • Ability to work in a damp / wet environment. • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
