JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Small Engine Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance, particularly with small engines. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, customer service skills, and the ability to work independently. The Small Engine Technician will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that equipment operates efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair or small engine repair preferred.
• Familiarity with welding techniques is a plus.
• Strong electrical experience related to small engines is highly desirable.
• Ability to work with various hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients.
• Ability to lift heavy objects as required for equipment handling.

Experience:

• Diagnose and repair small engines, including lawn mowers, generators, and other outdoor power equipment.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
• Assist in sales by recommending products or services based on customer needs, assemble, test & demonstrate.
• Perform heavy lifting as necessary to move equipment or parts during repairs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Assist with receiving large stock orders, forklift use.
