SMALL ENGINE MECHANIC

Rockland Wheels is looking for a skilled Small Engine Mechanic to join our team and help maintain and repair a wide variety of outdoor power equipment. From string trimmers to zero-turn mowers, chainsaws to generators, you’ll get to work on it all. We need someone who can work efficiently, think quickly, and take pride in quality workmanship.

Job Description: As a Small Engine Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing various types of small engines and equipment. You’ll need to be confident in performing tune-ups, carburetor changes, oil changes, and general maintenance on:

  • Lawn tractors
  • Zero-turn mowers
  • Generators
  • Trimmers and chainsaws
  • Push and self-propelled lawnmowers
  • Snowblowers (seasonally)
  • Other small engines and handheld equipment

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience repairing small engines
  • Good diagnostic skills and mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
  • Own tools (an asset)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
  • Must be available to work on Saturdays

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and tune-ups
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and complete repairs efficiently
  • Replace and adjust carburetors, belts, spark plugs, filters, and other components
  • Complete quick diagnostics and provide accurate estimates
  • Keep work area clean and organized
  • Document work performed and communicate with the service team
  • Provide quality customer service
  • Help with general shop duties as required
