Position Summary The Small Engine Technician is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of small engines and outdoor power equipment, including lawn mowers, utility vehicles, chainsaws, trimmers, and other related machinery. This role ensures equipment is serviced efficiently and accurately, providing high-quality support to Crown Power & Equipment customers. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair small engines and related equipment. Perform routine service, preventative maintenance, and inspections. Use diagnostic tools, service manuals, and technical resources to complete repairs. Assemble, set up, and test new equipment prior to delivery to customers. Maintain accurate work orders, service records, and timekeeping. Communicate effectively with customers and team members regarding service needs, timelines, and repair status. Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Stay up to date with manufacturer training and certifications as required. Requirements Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications preferred. 1–3 years of experience in small engine repair or related mechanical field preferred. Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams. Basic computer skills for service documentation. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid Class E driver’s license required. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. frequently. Prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and working with hand tools. Exposure to outdoor conditions and shop environment.
