The Small Group Leader is responsible for creating a welcoming, Christ-centered environment where individuals can experience authentic community, grow in their understanding of God’s Word, and apply biblical principles in daily life. This role requires a heart to serve others and a desire to build strong, life-giving relationships rooted in love, trust, and spiritual growth. Ministry Area/Department Discipleship Position Small Group Leader Accountable To Discipleship Director Ministry Target Community and congregation Position Is Volunteer  Position May Be Filled By Church member Minimum Maturity Level Stable, mature Christian Spiritual Gifts Teaching, Helps, Mercy-showing Talents or Abilities Desired Good communication and interpersonal skills, facilitator skills Best Personality Traits Motivated, Creativity, Organized Passion For Shepherding and discipling others, equipping individuals to grow in their relationship with God, and building meaningful Christ-centered relationships through a heart to serve. Length of Service Commitment One year minimum Anticipated Time Commitments: 1. Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: two to four hours a week 2. Participating in meetings/training: one to two hours a month Responsibilities/Duties: 1. Lead engaging and inclusive discussions based on biblical themes and small group curriculum, encouraging participation and spiritual reflection. 2. Prepare for each gathering using the provided small group preparation packet and additional resources as needed. 3. Teach sound biblical doctrine, helping members understand and apply Scripture to their lives. 4. Foster a caring and inclusive atmosphere that welcomes new members and encourages authentic relationships. 5. Build relationships with group members, offering support, encouragement, and spiritual care with a servant-hearted approach. 6. Support group members spiritually and emotionally, promoting accountability, prayer, and personal growth. 7. Engage with the broader church community through outreach or church events as opportunities arise.
