Job Title: Small Parts Patch & Polish Technician Classification: Non-Exempt Reports To: Small Parts Supervisor Job Description: Checks and fills hulls after the grinding process to ensure water tightness. Install side and bottom sound-dampening material and apply a thick coat of paint to the bilge area where required. Duties and Responsibilities: Identify and correct imperfections in the gel coat. Gel Coat and repair are required. Use orbital sander, buffer, die grinder, polishing compounds, etc. Keep the work area clean and orderly. Work with a team to complete daily tasks · Follow instructions of the Manager/Supervisor/lead. · Must comply with all OSHA and safety procedures. · Flexible work hours. · Crosstrain within the department Skills and abilities for success in this position: Give full attention to what others are saying, taking time to understand the points being made and asking questions as appropriate. The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. May be required to drive a forklift. Physical and Work Requirements: Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature. Must be able to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods. Must be able to climb into and out of the interior of boats. Must be able to wear proper safety equipment as needed. Must be able to lift 50 pounds when necessary. The ability to see details at close range. Be able to use and maintain small hand tools (grinder, scraper, razor knife, blower, etc.) This is a safety-sensitive position.
