GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Advanced Composite Supervisor reports to Light RTM Composites Manager. The Advance Composite Supervisor is responsible for overseeing large infusion and RTM production lines, including safety, quality, production output, production-related metrics, administrative requirements, and departmental improvement initiatives. This role communicates production priorities to employees, supports employee relations and development, and works closely with other production supervisors, managers, Quality Control, and Product Design and Development to ensure department goals are achieved. This position embodies and champions the core values, standards, and guiding philosophies of Nautique Boat Company, ensuring their consistent application across all duties and organizational initiatives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Essential Functions 1. Manages operations in his/her area to ensure the safe and timely completion of production schedules or department work by effectively utilizing people, equipment, and material. This includes coordinating Team Leaders (if applicable), time and production records, and ensuring that job assignments and work are set up for employees in the department. 2. Ensures the team’s overall quality levels (quality of product or department work) and on-time delivery schedules are maintained. 3. Interacts with various levels of people in the plant as needed, including quality control, industrial engineering, product development, and design. 4. Supervises employee activities. This includes evaluation and discipline; overall performance management; training and development; analyzing and resolving work problems; initiating or suggesting plans to motivate workers to achieve goals; and effective communication with associates. 5. Maintains safe working conditions in his/her area. Continually works on safety awareness with associates. Enforces safety regulations. 6. Inspects production/department work to verify conformance to specifications and directs any adjustments as needed. 7. Studies production/department work schedules and estimates employee hour requirements for completion of work. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production/department schedules and goals. 8. Continually works on process improvement and department efficiency. This includes recommendations to improve production methods, equipment performance, overall work quality, working conditions, and use of equipment. 9. Communicates with other supervisors or managers as needed to coordinate activities of respective departments or areas. 10. Actively participates with the entire Operation Team to support strategic plans and implement initiatives. 11. Must comply with all OSHA and safety procedures. 12. Performs similar or related duties as assigned. KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS Formal Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Work Experience: 2 years to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required; 2 years to 3 years of leadership experience preferred. Decision Making: Analytical: Supervision is present to establish broad objectives relative to basic position duties or departmental responsibilities. Independent judgment is required to set objectives, coordinate activities within a work unit or to complete a project. Actions taken may be based on similar situations encountered in the past. Problem Solving: Problem solving involves identification and analysis of diverse problems. Solutions are usually found by reviewing compliance manuals or administrative procedures and applying them for unusual situations. Guidance may be provided on what sources to review, and solutions are reviewed before acceptance. Responsibility for Directing Others: Responsible for making recommendations within one department in the areas of compensation, employee selection, disciplinary action, complaints, employee performance appraisal, and similar supervisory duties. Plans, assigns, and evaluates the work of subordinates for effective operation and results of the unit. Planning Level: One to Four Weeks: Plan events that are expected to occur from one to four weeks or on a monthly basis. Internal Contacts: Requires regular contacts to discuss issues of moderate importance and to respond to inquiries. Also requires ongoing contacts with officials at higher levels on matters requiring cooperation, explanation, and persuasion. External Contacts: External communication with others is minimal. Requires ordinary tact and courtesy. Job-Related Knowledge: Formal Technical/Vocational Skills: Requires specialized technical or trade knowledge, usually gained through formal training or certification, and the ability to apply it within established guidelines. Knowledge of large infusion and RTM production lines, manufacturing processes, production schedules, production metrics, quality standards, on-time delivery requirements, time and production records, work procedure adjustment, process improvement, equipment performance, OSHA requirements, safety procedures, and safe work practices in composites production. Working knowledge of frontline supervisory practices, including employee training and development, performance management, conflict resolution, and employee communication in a manufacturing environment. Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations: Must be a licensed driver with a safe driving record, subject to MVR Special Skills: Supervisory leadership skills with the ability to communicate clearly, direct and delegate work, support employee performance and development, maintain confidentiality, manage competing priorities, make sound decisions, and respond calmly to changing production needs or emergency situations. Working Conditions/Physical Effort: Non-climate-controlled factory environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature occasionally, with exposure to weather conditions, moderate noise, fiberglass, and dust in designated factory areas.
