Small Tools Mechanic Reports to: Small Tools Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (One-hour lunch) unless otherwise dictated; 40-45 hours per week, overtime and some Saturdays are expected Job Location: 3500 Alum Creek Drive, Columbus, OH 43207- This position is primarily in person, with no remote work capabilities. General Overview: Assist Field Services, Small Tools Mechanics, and Small Tools Lead Mechanic with repairs, maintenance, and inventory of tools and equipment entering and leaving the Department. Assists with yard upkeep and keeps the yard safe and organized. The person will consistently demonstrate Integrity, Gratitude, Excellence, and Leadership. Responsibilities Assists in loading and unloading shipments and deliveries in a safe, timely manner Keeps all items in the Small Tools Department stored and marked for accurate tracking and efficient locating in the appropriate software Maintains accurate logs of small tools, field supplies, and equipment inventory, including check-in/out records with employee names and job numbers, to support efficient warehouse and yard operations Learns and applies maintenance techniques to keep all items handled by Department in a safe, operating condition Performs morning routine checks of items returned to yard areas Repairs small engines by servicing, overhauling, and troubleshooting Orders parts for repairs Operates forklift for safe transporting, loading, and unloading material Stores supplies as needed Fills and stages material orders as indicated by requests Clears snow from Company yard and sidewalks as needed Assigns and labels new inventory items with a unique number for integration into the Company’s inventory system Maintains a presentable Company yard by removing trash and organizing pallets Communicates professionally with team members and clients Takes a solution-focused approach to routine challenges Answers calls regarding field issues and provides solutions Knows and adheres to all Company policies and procedures Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The Small Tools Mechanic must be physically capable of performing tasks that require standing, walking, bending, climbing, and kneeling for extended periods. They must be able to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly. The role involves working in a variety of environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, noise, and potentially hazardous fumes or chemicals. Mechanics must be able to operate hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently. Physical stamina is essential for performing repetitive and strenuous tasks throughout the workday. Additionally, the position requires sufficient hand dexterity and adequate vision and hearing to perform precise mechanical and diagnostic work. Qualifications: One (1) or more years of experience with small tool or engine repair is highly preferred Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening. (George J.
