WHAT WE DO
We put our Customers and Families First. They are the driving force behind everything we do. We drive forward improvements for them to ensure the service they receive, whether reactive repairs or a major project, is completed safely and on time. In order to achieve this, we have 4 core values: open, caring, agile and collaborative. These are at the heart of everything we do.
Location: South West. Candidates should be based within a reasonable commute to Larkhill, Portsmouth or Gosport
PERMANENT, FULL TIME
Salary: Up to £45,000 + use of a company vehicle
We’re looking for a Small Works Quality Inspector to join our team and help ensure that the projects we deliver meet the highest standards—both in terms of compliance and customer satisfaction. If you’ve got a background in property repairs and maintenance and a sharp eye for detail, this is a chance to take ownership of quality on site while representing the client’s interests with professionalism and integrity.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Success in this role depends on a proactive, collaborative attitude. You’ll need strong communication skills to work effectively across VIVO, DIO, Pinnacle, and our supply chain partners. You’ll also be someone who takes pride in setting and maintaining high standards, and who knows how to drive best practice through example.
To be considered, you’ll need proven experience in property maintenance or void refurbishment, particularly in service-driven environments. You’ll also need to be confident using Microsoft Office and hold a full UK driving licence. An NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant trade or discipline is essential, and we’re also looking for evidence of ongoing professional development.
It would be a bonus if you’ve worked in Defence, housing association, or compliance-focused environments, or have knowledge of the Asbestos at Work Act or energy performance. Qualifications or awareness in asbestos, legionella, or statutory management would also be beneficial—but your commitment to quality and safety is what matters most.
This role requires a full driving licence and ability to pass SC Clearance as a condition of your employment.
If you’re ready to be part of a team delivering work that truly makes a difference, and want to use your skills to improve standards and outcomes, we’d love to hear from you.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and control of small works across the contract. That means carrying out site inspections, identifying and recording defects or non-conformities, and ensuring that corrective actions are taken promptly. You’ll play a key role in pre-handover checks, ensuring that workmanship meets specification and is ready for sign-off.
You’ll be out on site regularly, documenting your findings through detailed reports, photographs, and observations. If something’s not up to standard—whether it’s related to build quality, progress, or safety—you’ll escalate it and make sure the issue is followed through. You’ll also liaise directly with subcontractors, site teams, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and ensure everyone is adhering to agreed protocols.
Your role also includes representing the client at site meetings and making sure that the finished works align with their expectations in terms of quality, finish, and performance. You’ll support audits and compliance checks, monitor testing and commissioning activity, and ensure records are maintained and transparent throughout.
You will be based form your nearest office, with regualr travel required across sites in the South West region.
