DS Smith is now hiring an SME Customer Manager for the North EMEA region! About the role Are you a visionary sales leader ready to shape the future of SME customer engagement across North EMEA (Baltics & Nordics)? DS Smith is hiring a dynamic and strategic professional to lead our SME Customer segment, driving simplification, profitability, and long-term growth. In this pivotal role, you will design and execute national sales strategies aligned with our corporate objectives, integrating DS Smith’s proven selling methodologies into our operations. You’ll lead performance management through precise forecasting and data-driven insights, collaborating closely with Finance and Supply Chain to ensure accurate planning. Your focus will be on optimizing revenue through strategic customer management, leveraging CRM tools, and using our principles to unlock profitable growth. You’ll identify opportunities within existing accounts, enhance margin performance, and deliver commercial success through structured development initiatives. As a leader, you’ll cultivate a high-performance culture, translating strategic goals into actionable plans for your team. You’ll coach, develop, and recruit top talent, ensuring the right people are in the right roles to drive results. You’ll also play a key role in regional senior management, contributing to broader business development and championing DS Smith’s values and leadership competencies. This role reports to SMI Director North EMEA, and can be based at either of our North EMEA offices, with occasional travels to other countries and sites to be expected. Qualifications Business degree at BSc level or equivalent combined with 5-7 years business experience, of which 4-5 years’ experience comes from commercial leadership roles Experience of large customer sales and / or experience as sales manager and/or Business Development Experience and ability to work independently in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamic. Proven ability to intelligently operate and navigate in a multinational, corporate environment, profound experience working in matrix roles Experience with stakeholder management – proven ability to deal with stakeholders on senior management level and towards customers This role requires excellent language skills, oral and written, in English as well as one of our Baltic or Nordic languages.
