SMED TECHNICIAN – 3rd Shift This hourly, non-exempt position ensures that customers receive a quality die-cast product as part of the Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) Team in performing accurate and timely procedures for casting die and trim press setups, changeovers and sleeve changes. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs safe and proper procedures for casting die and trim press setups, changeovers and sleeve changes. Analyzes die problems in collaboration with Tool Room, Maintenance, and Process Engineer/Coordinator team members. Performs minor/major die repairs. Maintains proper completion of all required paperwork and First Part Approvals. Performs floor work activities necessary to keep an orderly flow of production without unnecessary interruptions. Trains Set up Technicians and other press team members on standardized and safe work methods. Assists press teams to maintain production, including relieving for breaks, lunch, etc. Works weekends and overtime as required. Performs other duties as assigned by management. Maintains regular and punctual attendance in accordance with scheduled work hours and overtime (OT) as assigned. Meets all physical and environmental requirements. Follows all Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Policy regulations including the proper use of all required personal protective equipment. REQUIREMENTS Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Experience: 1 year related experience as a SMED Technician Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Database and Manufacturing software.
