Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements to maximize dining room efficiency and guest satisfaction. Escort guests to their tables and present menus while communicating daily specials and restaurant information. Coordinate with servers, bartenders, and management to ensure smooth guest flow and timely table turnover. Answer incoming phone calls, respond to guest inquiries, and assist with reservations and restaurant information. Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process guest payments accurately, including cash, credit card, and room charge transactions. Balance cash drawer and complete end-of-shift reconciliation according to company procedures. Address guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary to ensure exceptional service recovery. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand, entrance, and lobby areas. Monitor dining room capacity and communicate seating updates with management and service staff. Support opening and closing procedures, including preparing the host station, menus, and cashier supplies. Follow all company policies, health and safety standards, and luxury hospitality service expectations. Collaborate with the front-of-house team to provide an exceptional dining experience for every guest. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience as a host/hostess, cashier, or in a customer service or hospitality role preferred. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with a friendly, professional demeanor. Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with guests and team members. Experience operating a point-of-sale (POS) system and handling cash, credit card, and other payment transactions accurately. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage reservations, waitlists, and guest flow in a fast-paced environment. Basic math skills and attention to detail for accurate cash handling and transaction processing. Ability to remain calm, courteous, and solution-oriented during busy service periods. Professional appearance and commitment to maintaining luxury hospitality standards. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Ability to work collaboratively with staff members and management. Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Food Handler Card required or ability to obtain prior to employment, as required by local regulations.
