Role Overview:
As a Smokery Assistant, you will play a vital role in the production of our renowned smoked trout products. Working closely with our experienced team, you will assist in the meticulous preparation, smoking, and packaging of our artisanal offerings. From maintaining smokehouse equipment to ensuring strict adherence to hygiene standards, your attention to detail will be instrumental in upholding our reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the preparation of trout for smoking, including cleaning, filleting, and brining.
- Monitoring smoking processes to achieve optimal flavour and texture.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the smokery area.
- Collaborating with colleagues to meet production targets while upholding quality standards.
- Conducting routine maintenance and cleaning of smokehouse equipment.
- Adhering to food safety regulations and best practices at all times.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a food production environment, but full training will be given.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy objects
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.21-£13.80 per year
