Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a SMSF Auditor & Intermediate accountant role due to the expanding nature the business. Although this is a hybrid role it can be just for one area either just to work on tax or SMSF audit depends on candidate experience. This is a full-time (minimum 4 days) position that will provide you with opportunity to play a key role in audit of self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs) and also have exposure to all aspects of the tax area.
You will be working directly with the owner and have opportunity to progress with the business.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

SMSF audit duties:
· Conducting detailed audits of SMSFs to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
· Reviewing financial statements, investment records, and other SMSF documentation
· Identifying and addressing any issues or discrepancies found during the audit process
· Preparing comprehensive audit reports and communicating findings to clients
· Providing recommendations for SMSF improvements and best practices
· Staying up-to-date with changes in SMSF legislation and industry regulations
· Contributing to the development and implementation of audit procedures and policies
Income tax duties:
· Management of annual compliance obligations including preparation of financial statements and income tax returns, FBT returns and BAS for all entity types
· An understanding of accounting and general business principles and an ability to communicate these to clients from all industries while maintaining client service excellence
· Develop a range of non-traditional accounting skills with a view to assisting clients in all facets of their business
· Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office
