Fluxwerx, a division of LMPG, Inc., is an industry leader in the design, development and manufacturing of award-winning commercial lighting products, shipping to major building projects across North America and around the world.
We are currently looking for an energetic and enthusiastic SMT Operator to join our SMT department. In this role you will set up & operate all the SMT equipment, monitor its efficiency and report to the department leader as necessary. You will also be performing periodic maintenance on the SMT equipment in its scheduled intervals. This will be a full-time position with an afternoon shift schedule.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years of experience in SMT line operations.
  • Adequate knowledge in SMT production equipment.
  • Experience in performing basic machine maintenance.
  • Adequate knowledge with SMT components and printed circuit boards.
  • Adequate understanding of ESD, MSL and how to safeguard electronics from them.

DEMONSTRATED SKILLS:

  • Strictly follows company policies, departmental SOPs and work instructions.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure production environment.
  • Detail oriented and well organized.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written, verbal) of both technical and non-technical topics.
  • Strong team player while able to function independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities delivering results with high standards.
  • Takes initiative and delivers consistent positive results.
Responsibilities

As an SMT Operator, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Set up and operate stencil printer, pick & place machines, reflow oven, test equipment, PCB de-panel machines and PCB handling systems.
  • Perform sample in-process inspections on solder printing quality, pick & place accuracy, and report any issues to the department leader.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly 5S and maintenance tasks as per instructions.
  • Perform job teardowns and changeovers as per instructions, ensuring rapid changeovers between jobs.
  • Provide assistance in other SMT activities as required to keep the production line running efficiently.
