Description JOB TITLE: Summer Snack Bar Attendant / cook REPORTS TO: Snack Bar Chef SUPERVISES: No supervisory duties are included in this position. COMPENSATION: Non-exempt Hourly compensation (overtime eligible) - Pay Minimum wage or pay with experience BENEFITS: Free meals Position available: End of May through end of the Summer. Summer Full-time, weekends/weekdays POSITION OBJECTIVES: Prepare all food items required for Snack Bar. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Collects food and beverage products and small wares required for item preparation. Operates food production equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions. Carefully follows standard recipes while preparing assigned items for preparation Assists in plating food items for service. Handles leftover food items as instructed by the Snack Bar Chef Cleans assigned work station areas. Consistently uses safe and sanitary food handling practices. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Adhere to all AVCC Management Guidelines, Policies, & Procedures (including employee handbook and Culinary Guidelines) Carry out all reasonable requests made by Snack Bar Chef in a professional and timely fashion. Requirements JOB QUALIFICATION STANDARDS The following describes the general qualifications and physical, sensory and mental abilities normally associated with performing the essential functions of this position. Education and Experience: Previous experience working as a line cook preferred Up to date Food Handlers / Sanitation license, preferred, or clear understanding and commitment to impeccable Sanitation practices. Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training: Individual must be able to follow directs, prompt and willing to do what is needed to help the chef. Able to read labels and understand HACCP and MSDS material training guidelines Language and Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate & interact professionally with members & employees in English language. Physical, sensory and motor demands: Able to move fast and multi-task in a fast paced, high stress / pressure environment (Heat and Action) Frequent Standing for extended periods of time. Frequent Walking to collect or deliver goods Regular Lifting Excellent physical fitness, visual acuity and sense of smell
Responsibilities
