QUALIFICATIONS

  • Has at least three years of experience in operations (Preferably in Snow management).
  • Previous experience in a similar industry, with demonstrated ability to manage teams and supervise employees, is highly preferred.
  • Good understanding of snow maintenance equipment, techniques, and safety protocols
  • Flexible and able to work long hours, including nights and weekends, as required by the job
  • Should be able to quickly identify and resolve problems that may arise during winter operations.
  • Should have a keen eye for detail and be able to ensure that all winter operations are completed to a high standard.
  • Should be able to effectively manage their time and the time of their team to ensure that work is completed on schedule.
  • Have strong commitment to safety and be able to ensure that all employees follow proper safety protocols and procedures.
  • Must be able to effectively manage and supervise a team of plow operators, shovellers and Salters while ensuring that they are providing quality service to customers and following proper safety protocols.
  • must possess a valid driver’s license and have prior driving experience, as this role requires operating snow plows and other snow-removal and de-icing equipment.
    Contract Term: This is a fixed term contract of 5 months - Starting November 01, 2025 to March 31, 2026

Responsibilities
  • Supervising and coordinating Snow Removal Team:
  • Overseeing a team of Plow Operators, Side-Walk Crews, Salters, etc. and ensuring that they are deployed efficiently.
  • Coordinating with the Operations Manager regarding any specific issues as well as keeping client care updated regarding any client updates.
  • Monitoring Weather Conditions:
  • Responsible for monitoring weather conditions and adjusting winter operation for their specific site accordingly.
  • Responsible for tracking changes in temperature and precipitation, and adjusting equipment and personnel deployment as needed.
  • Maintaining Records:
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records of the weather conditions, personnel deployment, staff timesheets as well as any equipment related information.
  • Training and Ensuring Safety:
  • Responsible for training any new personnel hired for their specific area during the winter season.
  • Responsible for ensuring that plow operators and other personnel are working safely and following all relevant safety protocols. This includes conducting regular safety training sessions and ensuring that all equipment is in good working condition.
  • Equipment Operations:
  • Ability to operate snow-removal and de-icing equipment to clear snow and ice from laneways, sidewalks, parking lots, and other areas as and when needed. This includes trouble shooting and performing routine maintenance on the plows and other equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Providing Customer Service:
  • Responsible for coordinating with Client Care and providing excellent customer service to clients, including responding promptly to inquiries and concerns, and ensuring that work is completed to the client’s satisfaction.
