About Us ADF Health Services provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia. To learn more please visit www.serco.com/ahsc About the Role You will be responsible for providing chair-side assistance to the Dentist/Dental Specialist/Hygienist in the delivery of dental services to patients. You will also assist with administrative tasks such as entering/updating patient records as well as other duties as required by the Dentist including promotion of oral health to patients and maintaining optimal hygiene of the surgery. To be successful in this role, you will have: • The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour. • Certificate III in Dental Assisting or nationally recognised equivalent qualification. • Minimum of 2 years (full time equivalent) experience within the last 5 years. • Recent participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities. • Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality care to patients within a dental surgery. About ACT Health Centre ACT houses Department of Defence Headquarters, Airforce Headquarters and Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) which is a tri-service military academy. The ACT Health Centre opened mid-2021 and is a large facility. It services approximately 7000 military personnel, including trainee officers from both ADFA and Royal Military College. There is a 24-bed low dependency ward which operates 24/7. Services provided include primary medical, aviation & underwater medical, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy. Defence Force Recruitment for medical officers is in addition to health centre roles. Standard hours of operation are generally 0700-1630 Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts). About You You have a professional and friendly manner and enjoy interacting with patients and assisting the dental team with a range of support activities. Ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and procedures, you take pride in contributing to the cleanliness and effectiveness of a dental surgery environment and assisting your team wherever possible.
