We have a fantastic opportunity for a Social Care Assistant to join the team at HMP Leeds, a busy category B prison located in Leeds Centre.
Working on our social care unit, with capacity of 15 patients, this is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care. We are looking for someone with a real passion for helping others - this role allows you to make a real difference to patients!

Our new Social Care Assistant will:

  • Have experience in a care setting previously -care home, care in the community etc
  • NVQ in Health & Social Care would be an advantage
  • Have experience of assisting patients with personal care, washing, feeding etc
  • Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach - we want someone who really cares about others, and wants to make a difference

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As our new Social Care Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

  • Working on the social care unit, which has capacity of 15 males of varying ages
  • Deliver social care to patients - personal care, washing, eating, toileting, wound care etc
  • Work across the unit, assisting the wider team, including nurses and pharmacy as required
