The post holder will be required to effectively support an assigned caseload of young person in a residential setting and in their own homes based on their support needs. You will promote their recovery as well as their strengths, abilities and empower them to identify their goals and aspirations. You will support through advocacy to promote social inclusion and reduce the stigma associated with mental health challenges. You will be liaising with social workers, CAMHS, GP’s Dentist’s etc., and provide an active promotion of engagement with all services working with young people.
The postholder will be required to have experience of working with young person who have a mental health illness or within another social care setting. You will also be required to undertake mandatory training to deliver exceptional care.
You will therefore need to have the ability and capabilities to act calmly in an emergency and to respond in a professional manner, to potentially challenging behaviour.
