We are working in partnership with a Local Authority in Barry to appoint a Social Care Officers to join their Family Support Team!

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a Social Care Officer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our Family Support Teams during a period of high demand. Your responsibilities will include managing Care and Support Cases, as well as assisting social workers with more complex family situations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a workload of Care and Support Cases, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions to support families in need.
  • Provide practical and emotional support to individuals and families, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with social workers to assess and address the needs of families, including those facing complex issues such as safeguarding concerns or child protection issues.
  • Liaise with partner agencies and professionals involved in the care and support of families, promoting effective multi-agency working and coordination of services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of interventions, assessments, and case progress, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Participate in regular supervision and team meetings, contributing to case discussions and sharing insights to inform practice and decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to identify and implement improvements to service delivery, promoting best practice and continuous learning.
