Social Care Workers/ Support Workers (Permanent)
We are seeking to recruit motivated, creative and energetic social care workers/support workers to join our day services team. The focus of the role will be to lead initiatives in supporting the individuals to live a life of their choosing and what matters most to them. The role will support the individuals to become connected and valued within their local community, to provide opportunities for new experiences and to assist each person in developing real and authentic relationships. The ideal candidates will have a proven track record in supporting individuals to develop valued social roles and have experience in supporting individuals with communication needs and those who may display behaviours of concern and will have experience of person-centred planning and knowledge of person directed and individualised support approaches.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Relevant recognised Diploma in Social Care / Applied Social Studies in Social Care/Social Care Practice (minimum Level 7 on National Framework of Qualifications) which are CORU approved. Please note Social Care candidates must be registered with or in the process of registering with CORU. Relevant QQI Level 5 qualification.
  • Experience of supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
  • Experience of supporting individuals with a broad range of support needs including behaviours of concern.
  • A valid Full Licence to drive a manual vehicle in Ireland.
  • Adaptable and open communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Supportive, dependable team player.
  • Experience in and commitment to supporting individuals to connect with their local community.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, logistical and IT skills.
  • Suitability as outlined in the introduction to the role.
