SUMMARY: Employee shall assist in supporting students, administrators, teachers, staff, and families with social and emotional learning needs that interfere with students’ academic success as well as school-wide, tier-one social-emotional learning that can improve all students’ academic success. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Assess students’ functional behavioral capabilities within the classroom, design behavioral interventions, and deliver effective services to students individually, in small groups, and at the classroom level. Design and implement prevention and intervention strategies to assist students, staff, and administrators in increasing academic, behavioral, and social/emotional achievement at school. Work collaboratively with families, teachers, and school staff to support students' individual needs via teacher consultation, team meetings, and MTSS/RTI process. This includes the design and implementation of tier 2 and 3 behavior plans. Coordinate universal social-emotional programming and supports such as tier 1 SEL instruction, conflict resolution, databased decision-making, and safe school planning. Obtain and use information about individual students to increase achievement. Share knowledge and evidence-based interventions with staff, administrators, and parents. Function as a member of a school staffing team. Serve as a link between the school, parents, and community; foster a professional relationship, and encourage participation of all in the learning experience of students. Maintain appropriate communication with other educational institutions, outside agencies, and the community. Develop and/or participate in professional enrichment activities to maintain a high standard of service delivery. Create and deliver SEL professional development for classroom teachers and support staff Model and instill The Academy’s six Core Values for students whenever possible. Demonstrate respect for diversity in the home, school, local and global communities. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE: CDE Special Services Provider license with a School Psychologist or School Social Worker endorsement or current School Counselor endorsement on a valid Colorado license. Professional experience may consist of work at federal agencies, state agencies, local agencies, private clinics or hospitals, which directly relate to the job. LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS: Criminal background check required for hire. TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES: Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, Authorizer policies and building and department procedures. Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds. MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE: Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripherals. Operating knowledge of information technology systems and any other department specific software and equipment required within 2 months after entering position.
