Role Summary and Impact The Social Executive role is ideal for a rising social talent with a strong foundation in content creation and channel management, who is now ready to step up into a more strategic, client-facing role. You’ll be well versed in producing and editing video (Reels and TikTok’s created in-platform) and photo content (designed using Canva and/or original content shot on phone) for social platforms. This will be an opportunity to apply your creative thinking to world-leading brands, while learning the ropes within one of Australia’s leading agencies. Crucially, you'll be just as comfortable crafting social copy and understand the power of simple captions, whether writing from scratch or using AI tools to your advantage. Sitting between the Social Coordinator and Social Manager, you'll support and lead aspects of organic social media delivery across content, community, reporting, and insights, while beginning to take ownership of campaign delivery and selected client communication. You'll work across a dynamic portfolio including retail, entertainment, and automotive brands, as part of an agile, award-winning social and influencer team. You’ll collaborate closely with Managers and Directors to bring content calendars to life, lead community engagement, contribute to creative ideation, assist in reporting and support influencer partnerships — while gradually developing strategic thinking and platform expertise. Skills and Experience: The ideal Social Media Executive is creative, collaborative and organised — with hands-on content skills and an eye for what works on social. You're ready to contribute more strategically, grow client-facing confidence, and build experience managing multiple social projects. Required: 1–2 years’ experience in a social media role (agency or brand-side) Strong experience creating social content: copywriting, video editing, Canva/Adobe etc. Comfortable with platform-native tools (Instagram/TikTok editing, Meta Business Suite) Familiar with scheduling tools (Later, Sprout, Hootsuite, Meltwater, etc.) Familiar with social listening tools such as Brandwatch, Sprout, Meltwater and Brand24 Confident writing for different tones of voice and audiences Experience in community management across TikTok and Meta Good working knowledge of reporting and data interpretation Passion for social media trends, creators and storytelling Desirable: Some experience in client communication or content approvals Exposure to influencer marketing campaigns or talent outreach Understanding of how paid and organic social work together Knowledge of industries like retail, entertainment or automotive Experience using AI tools to enhance workflows Familiarity with platform insights tools or social listening dashboards Life at WPP Media & Benefits Our passion for shaping the next era of media includes investing in our employees to help them do their best work, and we’re just as committed to employee growth as we are to responsible media investment. WPP Media employees can tap into the global WPP Media & WPP networks to pursue their passions, grow their networks, and learn at the cutting edge of marketing and advertising. We are committed to fostering a culture of respect in which everyone feels they belong and has the same opportunities to progress in their careers. We believe the best work happens when we're together, fostering creativity, collaboration, and connection. That's why we’ve adopted a hybrid approach, with teams in the office around four days a week. If you require accommodations or flexibility, please discuss this with the hiring team during the interview process. While we appreciate all applications received, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. #LI-Promoted Please read our Privacy Notice for more information on how we process the information you provide.
