The office of the Hon Ed Husic MP has a great opportunity for someone with strong social media and communications capabilities to join our team as the ongoing fulltime Social Media and Communications Manager. The position is based in the Member’s Electorate office in Plumpton NSW.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Social Media and Communications Manager will be critical in building awareness and support for the work of the Federal Member, by producing and posting creative and engaging content.
You’ll be part of a motivated team working hard to help our local community and put a spotlight on local and national issues.
Standout applicants for the job will be able to show how capably they can manage competing tasks simultaneously, and within deadline.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Taking the lead in producing, editing and posting creative, engaging content catered for the range of different social media the Member uses.
• Responding to media enquiries, identifying proactive media opportunities, assisting with organising media interviews (radio, print, TV), drafting speeches, talking points, opinion pieces and comment.
• Helping refresh and manage the Member’s website, and regularly posting content, including media releases and community updates.
• Other duties as directed.
• There will also be regular travel to Canberra (primarily during parliamentary sittings) and there may be occasional travel interstate.
