Overview Reports To: Chief Content Officer (CCO) Role Title: Social Media Content Creator Compensation: $25/hour  Location: Fully Remote (US-Based) Commitment: 15-25 hours/week We are seeking a highly creative and self-motivated Remote Social Media Content Creator to manage our brand presence across all major US social media platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling and skilled in creating diverse content formats, including engaging short-form videos and informative long-form blog posts. This role requires a proactive approach to content strategy, creation, and scheduling, with direct responsibility for reporting to the CCO. Key Responsibilities * Content Creation & Execution: Produce a consistent stream of high-quality, on-brand content, including: * Video: Plan, film, and edit short-form videos (for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, etc.). * Written: Research, write, and edit engaging social media captions. * Graphics: Create basic visual assets and adapt existing branded templates. * Platform Management: Develop and maintain a content calendar for all major US platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.), ensuring all content aligns with the strategic direction set by the CCO. Knowledge of Buffer platform for scheduling posts is preferred. * Strategy & Optimization: Stay up-to-date with social media trends, platform updates, and best practices. Proactively bring new ideas and trending formats to the CCO for strategic review. * Performance Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on content performance (reach, engagement, impressions, traffic, etc.) to the Chief Content Officer on a weekly basis. * Community Engagement: Monitor comments and direct messages to foster a positive community, and surface key audience feedback and content ideas to the CCO. The 30-60-90 Day Plan: Key Success Milestones Days 1–30: Learn & Absorb (Focus on Immersion and Understanding) * Onboarding: Complete all company and team onboarding processes, gain access to all social accounts, software (Analytics, Scheduling, Editing), and style guides, as available. * Stakeholder Syncs: Meet with the CCO and key internal teams (Marketing, Product) to understand high-level business goals and content objectives. * Strategy Development: Work with CCO and designated social media strategy consulting firm to co-develop a comprehensive cross-platform social media strategy  Days 31–60: Create & Stabilize (Focus on Execution and Consistency) * Content Production: Fully take over and implement the content strategy and content calendar by consistently creating and publishing content across all platforms with minimal direct oversight. * Reporting Baseline: Establish and deliver the first comprehensive performance report to the CCO, clearly defining the initial performance benchmarks for all key channels. Days 61–90: Analyze & Optimize (Focus on Performance and Scalability) * Experimentation: Launch one or two new content formats or channel-specific experiments (e.g., a specific TikTok series, a new LinkedIn video style) designed to increase a target KPI (e.g., engagement rate or traffic) as agreed upon with the CCO. * Refinement: Use performance data from the last 30+ days to propose and implement adjustments to the content strategy, content schedule and posting frequency to maximize impact. * Forward Planning: Develop a detailed content plan for the next quarter, aligning upcoming content with major company goals and product launches. Qualifications * Proven experience as a Content Creator. * A strong portfolio of published video and social content, is MANDATORY for consideration. * Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere, etc.) and graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express). * Demonstrable ability to adapt tone and style for different platforms and maintain consistency with a defined brand voice. * Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with experience clearly articulating performance data in reports. * Must have reliable equipment and a designated workspace for remote work.
