Description
Job Brief Tip-Top Brain is looking for a creative, camera-savvy storyteller to plan, shoot, and edit the short-form videos and photos that bring our programs to life on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. Working closely with our team, you will craft eye-catching visuals that spark curiosity and inspiration in students and parents. The ideal candidate has a genuine passion for education, an instinct for trending formats, and the organization to keep multiple projects moving on a tight posting calendar. Primary Responsibilities Produce a steady mix of Reels, Stories, single-image/video posts, and carousels—experimenting with new formats to maximize reach and engagement. Capture and edit video/photo of all day-to-day programs—classes, camps, staff trainings, community outreach—and keep a well-tagged, cloud-based asset library. Color-grade footage, balance audio, add captions, and retouch photos so each post looks studio-quality on mobile. Plan weekly content themes and publish via Meta Business Suite, Later, or similar scheduling tools. Research platform trends (hooks, sounds, effects) and pitch fresh ideas during weekly content meetings. Maintain an editorial calendar and adjust posting times for optimal reach and engagement. Monitor comments, DMs, and respond to or route inquiries within 24 hours. General Responsibilities Collaborate with the team to align visuals with copy and campaign goals. Ensure all content reflects Tip-Top Brain’s brand guidelines, values, and child-safety standards. Create accurate open/closed captions and add alt-text so every post is accessible. Track basic performance metrics (views, likes, shares) and flag high-performing creatives. Occasionally support live-streaming or webinar production for parent information. Qualifications / Requirements. 2+ years managing social channels and email marketing for a consumer brand with measurable growth results. Excellent copywriting skills—concise, upbeat, and parent-focused. Comfortable directing children on camera; prior work in camps, schools, or youth programs is a plus. Proficient with TikTok & Reels native editors and desktop tools (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, CapCut). Working knowledge of Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or Adobe Illustrator. Hands-on experience with Meta Business Suite, TikTok Dashboard. Able to plan tasks in Asana, streamline conversations in Slack, and maintain structured content calendars in Airtable. Familiarity with paid ad managers (Meta Ads, TikTok Ads) and audience retargeting is a plus. Strong eye for lighting, composition, audio, and motion typography. Schedule & resources: Part-time 20 hrs/week minimum, on-site in Astoria, including Saturdays. We supply professional cameras, mics, editing workstations, and licensed software. 90-day success targets: Grow combined Instagram + TikTok reach 30%, hit ≥ 5% average Reel/TikTok engagement, drive 50 qualified clicks/month to inquiry forms, publish 4-5 videos + 3-4 photo/carousel posts weekly, and present a concise monthly performance dashboard. Compensation: $35 – $45 per hour, commensurate with experience.
