About the role
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and courageous Social Media Coordinator – Alumni to play a key role in fostering meaningful connections with our vibrant global alumni community. You’ll be responsible for planning, creating, and delivering social media content and campaigns that support alumni engagement goals, while ensuring alignment with RMIT’s brand and values.
Your ability to work closely with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders, combined with your creativity and expertise in social media and data-driven insights, will contribute and support alumni engagement objectives.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
-

Proven experience managing both paid and organic social media activities, including content planning, ad campaign execution, and performance optimisation. Strong understanding of channel dynamics, audience engagement tactics, and using insights to refine strategy across platforms.

  • Demonstrated understanding of loyalty marketing and alumni engagement principles, with the ability to develop and implement strategies that foster long-term connection, advocacy, and retention. Proven experience in engaging alumni and similar relationship-driven audiences to support brand loyalty and acquisition objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to create engaging visual and video content for social media using tools such as Adobe Express, Canva, and Photoshop. Strong eye for design and storytelling, with the ability to tailor content to different platforms and audiences. Strong understanding of end-to-end marketing campaign development and optimisation, including communications, strategy formulation, implementation for both online and offline channels.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing creative briefs, curating content, and producing social media assets. This includes the ability to shape content strategy, work with internal and external stakeholders to source material, and ensure timely delivery of content that aligns with brand and campaign objectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including: ability to convey information; negotiate with a variety of people to achieve outcomes; highly developed presentation skills; managing people in project or task teams; and ability to maintain productive relationships with international contacts.
  • Sophisticated cross-cultural understanding and awareness and demonstrated ability to represent an organisation in diverse countries, and to deliver project outcomes to the satisfaction of clients in different countries and cultures.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate projects, including strong planning and organisational skills, with a proven ability to manage timelines, performance targets, critical deadlines, and deliverables in a dynamic work environment.
  • Well developed skills in gathering, maintaining, analysing, reporting on and presenting information in a variety of formats and for a variety of purposes.
