Why You’ll Love This Role: Creative Impact. Your designs, videos, and campaigns directly support adoptions, donations, volunteerism, and lifesaving programs. Storytelling with Purpose. You’ll turn real moments—rescues, transformations, community connections—into content that resonates across platforms. Creative Trust. We value bold ideas, authentic storytelling, and experimentation over corporate-speak and cookie-cutter content. Collaboration & Culture. You’ll work closely with the Director of Marketing & Grants and team members who trust creative instincts, move quickly, and support one another. What the Day Really Looks Like Design & Create. Design compelling graphics for social media, web, email campaigns, and marketing materials using Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent professional tools. Manage & Engage. Oversee daily content across social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Threads, YouTube), responding to comments and messages and building genuine community connections. Tell the Story. Develop content that highlights impact, builds narrative arcs, and invites people into HSSC’s mission—turning passive scrollers into active supporters. Create Video. Translate long-form video into short-form content for Reels, Stories, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts that drives engagement. Collaborate & Source. Work with staff, volunteers, fosters, and adopters to gather authentic stories, photos, and user-generated content. Track & Improve. Monitor analytics, identify what’s working, report on key metrics, and use data to inform creative and strategic decisions. Requirements You’re a Perfect Fit If You… Live our mission and believe storytelling saves lives Have strong design skills using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or equivalent) Understand social media platforms deeply and know what content performs where—and why Have a strong visual eye and a unique creative perspective Understand internet culture, trends, and how to adapt them authentically for different audiences Are organized, collaborative, and comfortable juggling multiple projects Communicate clearly and professionally across teams Are energized by fast-paced, creative work with real-world impact Portfolio required: Show us campaigns you’ve run, graphics you’ve designed, or social accounts you’ve helped grow.
