WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH ‍‍

We are looking for an entrepreneurial-minded Social Media Manager to take the reins of Hostelworld’s social presence across our key channels. Working closely with our Content and SEO team, you’ll manage the messaging and engagement primarily on Instagram, although with some interplay with Facebook, TikTok, and X too. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys both thinking and doing—expect to be hands-on from day one, especially on Instagram.
We’re looking for someone who can highlight our expertise in hostel selection and locations while showcasing our unique social features for travellers. You’ll also engage with our audience on key events, special holidays, and relevant topical issues. Your collaboration with the team will ensure that Hostelworld’s voice remains authentic, fun, and informative.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO ‍

  • Manage Social Presence: Run Hostelworld’s social media channels which currently include Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and X.
  • Content Collaboration: Work closely with the Content and SEO teams to align on messaging, strategy, and engagement.
  • Hands-on Posting: Take over all social media posting responsibilities from the
  • Content team, ensuring timely and relevant content.
  • Scheduling & Tracking: Use Emplifi and StoryStream to schedule posts, track engagement, and identify new engagement opportunities.
  • Engage & Grow: Roll up your sleeves to directly engage with our audiences and grow our social media presence.
  • Video & Content Creation: Utilise your skills in content creation, especially video, to create compelling posts that resonate with our audience.
  • Special Projects: Work on exciting initiatives like hostel giveaways, and research emerging travel content trends to keep us ahead of the curve.
  • Leverage AI: Use AI tools to discover noteworthy travel events and collaborate with micro-influencers through Instagram.
